New Year Resolutions
Better get this post out before it becomes irrelevant. 2007 was a great year for resolutions completed, 2008 was a bit different as I was a bit vague about how the year was going to pan out - it's hard to write specific resolutions when you don't know which side of the globe you will be living.
So here is the list for 2009. Obviously it's the blog version, so it's a bit tame, missing out all the juicy work/life/personal ones and sticking to the basics. If you want to hear the other ones you'll have to take me out for a drink.
- pat more dogs
- finish that picture
- buy a new bike
- eat out more with nice people
- eat in more with nice people
- read more books than I buy
- do a trauma course
- understand congenital heart defects without constantly looking them up
- finish my sailing theory course
- finish my sailing practical course
- go sailing more
- nail those knots
- memorise a poem
- buy more socks
- buy fewer 'funny' t-shirts
- try to like olives
- be more flexible
- snowboarding snowboarding snowboarding
Good luck with yours!

Ahh! The not-yet-finished picture!
Patting dogs is good. Any particular poem in mind? Something funny, or profound, Burns, or McGonigal? We had to write a poem for homework for church this Christmas. I could send you that to learn if you like.
I wouldn't bother with the olives, they're horrible oily things, quite expensive and if you do get any in something plenty of other people rave about them and will often eat ones you've picked out of your portion. If you're lucky they'll give you their sultanas in return.
Happy New Year by the way. I got 2 wind up space-hoppers and a measuring sheep for Christmas. Great fun. Happy New Year too to your friend in darkest, hottest Sudan. Wish he was here - (He probably knows I wish that, that's probably why he's made sure he's elswhere!)
